Fundraising Events in 2008

Please come to visit (or assist) with Cat Welfare Sussex fund raising events throughout 2008, - we do need lots of help - and look out for our Cat Welfare Sussex banner.

Friday 31st October - Weather Permitting !
Halloween Trick or Treat for the Pussy Cats

At the Cattery, 164 Mile Oak Road, Portslade. 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

This event (weather permitting) is for small children accompanied by adults please. Bring along a tin of cat food or a treat and children will receive a small reward for their kindness. There will be a children's Lucky Dip, a Bric a Brac table and a cake stall. Our photographer will also be on hand to photograph the scary costumes!

Last year we had a great time meeting lots of little Witches and Wizards. They all thoroughly enjoyed our spooky decorations. This year we are hoping to do things on an even bigger scale as we had such a positive response from both children and adults.

There has been a lot of bad press about Halloween but this fun event gives the children focus and teaches them about charity and of course about animal welfare issues.

Unfortunately the cattery will not be open as the cats are put to bed early in the winter. However, you may catch a glimpse of our pet cats Magic, Madron or Cobweb and also our two Collie dogs Doune and Charm.

Can you help us? We need to source around fifty pumpkins of all sizes for this event - either donated or very cheap. They are so expensive in the supermarkets this year.
If you can help, please call Julie Grant on 01273 423861. Thanks!

Early November
The Barcombe Animal Charities Autumn Fair

(Date to be confirmed)

As yet, we do not have any Christmas events planned as this is such a busy time for us. We have the mammoth task of compiling and distributing our annual newsletter, as well as dealing with all the Christmas correspondence etc.

How about you?

If you feel that you could organise an event for us (at any time of the year) we would be extremely grateful. There are only so many hours in a day in which to run the cattery, answer the phone and deal with admin and organise fund raising. Any help would be much appreciated!
Please phone Julie Grant 01273 423861 or contact Julie here.

The Internet is full of ideas of how to raise money for charity. Please let us know if you intend to host an event but do remember the laws regarding fund raising.

Please watch this space for any additional fund raising events and keep your fingers crossed, please, for a lovely sunny spring, summer and autumn.
