Fundraising Events

Here are the fundraising events that Cat Welfare Sussex will be attending in 2011. Please come along to support us and to say "Hello".

Sat 25th June
Adur Recreation Ground Car Boot Sale, Shoreham by Sea
7:00 am sellers, 8:00 am buyers

CANCELLED Due to Inclement Weather Warning

The Met Office has issued a heavy rain warning for the period of the car boot sale. The Trustees have reluctantly taken the decision to postpone the event until Saturday 13th August.

Sat 9th July
Petworth Fete in the Park, Petworth, West Sussex 
From 10:00 am

We will have a fundraising stall for Cat Welfare Sussex in the wonderful Petworth Park.

Sun 17th July
RSPCA OPEN Day and DOG SHOW, Braypool Lane, Patcham, Brighton 
From 10:30 am

Keren and her team will be representing us with the usual Cat Welfare Sussex and Sussex Pet Rescue Stall - so do come along on the day to support us. It really is a great day out for all the family.

Sat 13th August
Adur Recreation Ground Car Boot Sale, Shoreham by Sea
7:00 am sellers, 8:00 am buyers

Lots of helpers are needed for this one as it is a very long day.

We start at 5.30am in order to have everything in place by the time the sale opens to the sellers at 7am (buyers at 8am) and we have to clear the recreation ground of all debris and litter afterwards. It’s a long day but it's great fun and raises a lot of money for the animals as Cat Welfare Sussex and Sussex Pet Rescue receive the money raised from the sellers pitch prices.

On a fine day we can do really well as it is very well attended event. So if you need to have a clear out at home- take a pitch for £8.00 and help the Animals at the same time.

Sat 27th August
Portslade Village Fete Village Green
From 10:30 am

Tommy and I along with Gilly, Margaret and Jacqui have always enjoyed participating in our village Fete.
We usually have a Home Produce and Bric a Brac stall at this event.

Sun 4th September
Charity Walk For The Animals. Hove Lagoon to the Palace Pier and back.
Starts 12:00 pm

This is our biggest fund raising event and we want to make our sponsored walk 2011 even bigger and better than 2010. You can join in as a sponsored walker - great if you work in a large shop, office etc.

For those of you that find gathering sponsorship difficult you can still participate by paying an individual contribution on the day.

Perhaps you would like to walk as a group in order to publicise your business, organisation, school or club.

Last year some walkers came in fancy dress which gave a great carnival feel to the walk. Lots more of those this year please – it’s great fun for the children!

How about you?

We always need  good quality items and unwanted gifts to sell  or as to give  raffle prizes.
If anyone can make cakes or home produce for us that would be a great help as we need lots to sell on our stalls. We can collect from you.

If you feel that you could organise an event for us (at any time of the year) we would be extremely grateful. There are only so many hours in a day in which to run the cattery, answer the phone and deal with admin and organise fund raising. Any help would be much appreciated!

The Internet is full of ideas of how to raise money for charity. Please let us know if you intend to host an event but do remember the laws regarding fund raising.
